With the making 5 activity, the children had 5 chips in a cup. One either side was a red or white colour. They would shake them up and dump them on the table and see how they would land. They would record them on a paper by colouring the circles. (3 red and 2 white or 4 white 1 red etc). They did this 8 times. This showed them we can make and represent 5 in different ways.
